The USAID’s Business Environment Activity and the eGov project, in conjunction with the Macedonian Customs Administration, will publicly present the Single Window System for Exports and Imports (EXIM) on December 22, 2008.
EXIM will be used by the business community (import and export companies, and customs brokers), and fifteen government institutions involved in foreign trade regulation, including the Customs Administration.
With this system, companies will be able to apply electronically for a license in one step to any of the fifteen authorized institutions, and to obtain the licenses electronically. The result will be reduced trading costs and timely delivery of goods and services. Firms can also apply for tariff-rate quotas online that subsequently will be distributed electronically on “first come, first served” basis.
