On March 25, 2008 the Macedonian Securities Exchange Commission, in collaboration with USAID’s Business Environment Activity organized a meeting in Skopje with companies that are registered in Joint Stock Companies Register as companies with special reporting requirements.
The purpose of the meeting was to increase the companies’ awareness that issuing of securities is a good way of raising capital and that transparency and informing the public is not only a legal requirement, but also a way of their promotion before the potential investors.
The participants were welcomed by the MSEC president Ms. Marina Nakeva - Kavrakova
The Securities Exchange Commission encourages and supports all Macedonian companies to issue securities and bonds, with the aim of acquiring finances for developing their own capital. Since the investors are hungry for new financial initiatives and it is almost certain that they are going to demand new issues of securities, it is more than inevitable that companies will have to disclose information concerning the investments and trading in securities.
Participants on the workshop Representatives of USAID's BEA
Workshops will also be held in the following cities: Strumica, Bitola, Stip and Tetovo.
